    The main result of this paper is the following lemma: Let \(d>1\), \(\beta>0\) be two constants, \(f\), \(g\), \(h\) be non-negative functions defined in a bounded Lipschitz domain \(\Omega\subset\mathbb{R}^n\) satisfying \[ f\in L^ d_{loc}(\Omega),\quad\exp(\beta g^d)\in L^1_{ loc}(\Omega),\quad h\in L^d_{loc}(\Omega). \] Suppose that there is a constant \(C>0\) such that \[ \left({1\over | B| }\int_Bf^d\,dx\right)^{1\over d}\leq C{1\over | 2B| }\int_{2B}fgdx +C\left({1\over | 2B| }\int _{2B}h^d\,dx\right)^{1\over d} \] holds for all balls \(B=B_r(x)\) with \(2B=B_{2r}(x)\subset\subset\Omega\). Then there is a real number \(c_0=c_0(n,d,C)>0\) such that if \(h^d\log^{c_0\beta}(e+h)\in L^1_{ loc}(\Omega)\), then the same is true for \(f\). Moreover, for all balls \(B\) as above, \[ \begin{multlined} {1\over | B| }\int_Bf^d\log^{c_0\beta}\left(e+\frac{f} {\| f\| _{d,2B}}\right)\,dx \leq c\left({1\over | 2B| }\int_{2B}\exp(\beta g^d)\,dx\right) \left({1\over | 2B| }\int _{2B}f^d\, dx\right) \\ +c{1\over | 2B| }\int _{2B}h^d \log^{c_0\beta}\left(e+{h\over\| f\| _{d,2B}}\right)\,dx, \end{multlined} \] where \(c=c(n,d,\beta,C)>0\) and \(\| f\| _{d,2B}=({1\over | B| }\int_{2B}f^d\,dx)^{1\over d}\). Using the above lemma, higher regularity of two-dimensional generalized Newtonian fluids is established.
