Let \(\mathfrak g\) be a symmetrizable Kac-Moody Lie algebra, and let \(\omega\) be an automorphism of its Dynkin diagram (or Cartan matrix). The orbit Lie algebra of the pair \(\mathfrak g\), \(\omega\) is the Lie algebra with diagram given by the quotient of the diagram of \(\mathfrak g\) by \(\omega\) (in a well-defined sense). Such diagrams are often called folded diagrams. The automorphism \(\omega\) induces an automorphism of many natural \(\mathfrak g\)-modules (such as highest weight modules), and also Demazure modules. The twining character of such a module \(M\) is then defined to be the sum over all weights \(\mu\) of the trace of this automorphism on the \(\mu\)-weight space of \(M\) multiplied by a formal exponential \(e^{\mu}\) of \(\mu\). In this paper, the author computes the twining character of a Demazure module for \(\mathfrak g\), using the Lakshmibai-Seshadri path approach to the crystal basis of a Demazure module for \(\mathfrak g\); see \textit{M. Kashiwara} [Duke Math J. 71, 839-858 (1993; Zbl 0794.17008)]. The work of \textit{S. Naito} and \textit{D. Sagaki} [J. Algebra 245, 395-412 (2001; Zbl 1040.17022)] is employed. For more details on Lakshmibai-Seshadri paths, see e.g. \textit{P. Littelmann} [Ann. Math (2) 142, 499-525 (1995; Zbl 0858.17023)].
