A bounded linear operator \(T\) on a complex Hilbert space \(H\), with polar decomposition \(U| T| \), is said to be \(\omega\)-hyponormal if \(| {\widetilde{T}}^*| \leq| T| \leq| \widetilde{T}| \), where \(\widetilde{T}:=| T| ^{\frac{1}{2}}U| T| ^{\frac{1}{2}}\) is the Aluthge transformation of \(T\). The operator \(T\) is said to be \(\log\)-hyponormal if it is invertible and \(\log(| T^*| )\leq\log(| T| ).\) It is known that every \(\log\)-hyponormal operator is \(\omega\)-hyponormal, while the converse is false in general. In this note, the author provides a non-\(\log\)-hyponormal bilateral shift with operator-valued weight whose powers are \(\omega\)-hyponormal.
