The discretization methods used for the numerical solution of linear Volterra integral equations of the second kind are based on earlier work of \textit{H. De Meyer, J. Vanthournout} and \textit{G. Vanden Berghe} [J. Comput. Appl. Math. 30, No. 1, 55-69 (1990; Zbl 0693.41003)] and \textit{P. Bocher, H. De Meyer} and \textit{G. Vanden Berghe} [Int. J. Comput. Math. (to appear)] on mixed interpolation (involving trigonometric functions) and corresponding modifications of Gregory quadrature formulas of order 3 and 4. There is no error analysis, and the presented numerical example is trivial (constant kernel). Moreover, the authors do not seem to be aware of the more recent developments in the analysis of numerical stability for Volterra equations.
