The Eckmann-Hilton groups are the left derived functors of Hom. Let: \(H_ n(A,B)=Ext^ n(A,B)\), \(n>0\), \(H_ n(A,B)={\underline \Pi}_{- n}(A,B)\), \(n\leq 0\), and \(K_ n(A,B)=Ext^ n(A,B)\), \(n>0\), \(K_ n(A,B)={\bar \Pi}_{-n}(A,B)\), \(n\geq 0\). We define certain product operations extending the Yoneda product: \(H_ p(B,C)\times H_ q(A,B)\to H_{p+q}(A,C)\) unless \(p\leq 0\) and \(q>0\), \(K_ p(B,C)\times K_ q(A,B)\to K_{p+q}(A,C)\) unless \(p>0\) and \(q\leq 0.\) We apply these products to classify the natural transformations from \(\{H_ n(B,-)\}_{n\in {\mathbb{Z}}}\) to \(\{H_ n(A,-)\}_{n\in {\mathbb{Z}}}\) (and dually for K) in the vein of work by Hilton-Rees. - In the case of a group ring \({\mathbb{Z}}G\), G finite, we obtain \({\underline \Pi}{}_ n(A,B)\simeq Tor{}_{n-1}(A,B)\), and products on the homology and cohomology of G.
