The authors give a condition for the integral closure of a Dedekind domain \(R\) in a finite separable extension to be monogenic in terms of the resultants of the minimal polynomial \(F\) of \(\alpha\) and liftings to \(R[X]\) of the irreducible factors of \(F\bmod\;P\) for prime ideals \(P\) of \(R\). Note that Theorem 2.5 is applicable only if \(R\) has finitely many prime ideals \(P\), as the authors assume that for every \(P\) the irreducible factors \(f_P\) of \(F\bmod\;P\) satisfy \(f_P^2| F\bmod\;P\).
