The construction of indecomposable vector bundles of small rank \(r\) on the projective space \(\mathbb{P}^n_k\) is a very difficult task. Indeed, a leading conjecture by Hartshorne states that they can not exist when \(r<n/3\). Actually, when \(k\) has characteristic zero, non example is known for \(r\leq n-3\), there are basicly two cases for \(r=n-2\) (with \(n=4\), due to Horrocks-Mumford, and with \(n=5\), due to Horrocks), and two families of bundles (Tango and instanton bundles) when \(r=n-1\). In the paper under review the authors construct a different family of stable (therefore indecomposable) vector bundles of rank \(n-1\) on the projective space \(\mathbb{P}^{n}_{\mathbb{C}}\). Their approach uses tools from representation theory. Indeed, they work with the projective space \(\mathbb{P}(S^{d}\mathbb{C}^{n+1})\) of symmetric forms of degree \(d\) on \(n+1\) variables and construct stable vector bundles which are moreover equivariant with respect to the action of the group \(\mathrm{SL}_{n+1}(\mathbb{C})\). In the particular case \(n=1\), the vector bundles that they construct have rank \(d-1\).
