The authors' study the tautological integrals over Quot schemes on curves and surfaces. They derive several explicit formulas over Quot schemes of dimension zero quotients on curves and apply the results to tautological integrals against the virtual fundamental class of Quot schemes of dimension zero and dimension one quotients on surfaces. The virtual Euler characteristic of Quot schemes of a surface which is a new theory parallel to the Vafa-Witten Euler characteristic of moduli of bundles is defined and studied. Complete formulas for virtual Euler characteristic are found for dimension zero quotients on surfaces. The dimension one quotients are studied for \(K3\) surfaces and surfaces of general type, this has connection to the Kawai-Yoshioka formula and Seiberg-Witten invariants. The dimension one theory is completely studied for minimal surfaces of general type admitting a non-singular canonical curve. There is an application of these results to find a connection between weighted tree counting and multivariate Fuss-Catalan numbers.
