A non-empty subset \(A\) of an \(n\)-ary semigroup \((G,f)\) is called a \(j\)-ideal if for any \(x_1,x_2,\dots,x_n\in G\), \(x_j\in A\) implies \(f(x_1,x_2,\dots,x_j,\dots,x_n)\in A\). A non-empty subset of \(G\) which is a \(j\)-ideal for any \(j=1,2,\dots,n\), is called an ideal. An element \(x\in G\) such that \(x=f(x,\dots,x)\) is called an idempotent. The author studies properties of ideals connected with the idempotents of \(n\)-ary semigroups.
