This note deals with the following complex derivative Ginzburg-Landau (G-L) equation in 2D: \[ {\partial u\over\partial t}=\rho u+(1+i \nu)\Delta u-(1+i \mu)|u|^{2\sigma} \cdot u+\alpha\lambda_1 \cdot\nabla \bigl(|u|^2 \cdot u\bigr) +\beta(\lambda_2 \cdot\nabla u)|u |^2,\text{ in }\Omega\times\mathbb{R}^+ \] with initial condition \(u(x,0) =u_0(x)\) in \(\Omega\) and periodic boundary data. Here \(\sigma>0\), \(\rho>0\), \(\nu, \mu,\alpha\) and \(\beta\) are real constants, \(\lambda_1\) and \(\lambda_2\) are real vectors. The authors prove existence and uniqueness of global solutions by means of the Galerkin method and a priori estimates on the solution in \(H^1\)- and \(H^2\)-norms.
