\(n\)-tuples \(A = (A_1,\ldots,A_n)\) and \(B = (B_1,\ldots, B_n)\) of a Banach space operators are said to criss-commute if \[ A_iB_kA_j=A_jB_kA_i\quad B_iA_kB_j=B_jA_kB_i\quad \text{for all} \;i,j,k. \] In [\textit{S.-K. Li}, Chin. Sci. Bull. 37, 1849--1852 (1992; Zbl 0789.47009)] it was proved that if \(A\) and \(B\) are criss-cross commuting, then \(\sigma_T(AB)\setminus\{0\}=\sigma_T(BA)\setminus\{0\}\), where \(AB= (A_1B_1,\ldots,A_nB_n)\). In [J. Oper. Theory 37, 303--309 (1997; Zbl 0890.47005], \textit{R. Harte} extended this result to different kinds of joint spectra of criss-commuting \(n\)-tuples. In the paper under review, it is shown that for two criss-cross commuting \(n\)-tuples \(A = (A_1,\ldots,A_n)\) and \(B = (B_1,\ldots, B_n)\) of Banach space operators, if (i) \(0\in\sigma_\pi(A)\cap \sigma_\pi(A^*)\), or (ii) there exists an invertible operator which is a linear combination of \(A_1,\ldots, A_n\), then \(\sigma_T(AB)=\sigma_T(BA)\), where \(A^*=(A^*_1,\ldots,A^*_n)\) and \(\sigma_\pi(A)\) is the approximate point joint spectrum of \(A\).
