The authors develop a group-theoretic framework for investigating the structure, classification, and conformal symmetry of elementary particles if the space-time is assumed a flat space over a non-Archimedean field. In particular, they define and study non-Archimedean counterparts of the Poincaré and Galilean groups, construct a conformal compactification of the \(p\)-adic space-time, prove the impossibility of conformal symmetry of massive and eventually massive particles. These results are based on a new version of Mackey's theory of projective unitary representations; see \textit{G. W. Mackey} [Acta Math. 99, 265--311 (1958; Zbl 0082.11301)]; \textit{V. S. Varadarajan} [``\(p\)-adic numbers'', Ultrametric Anal. Appl. 1, 69--78 (2009)].
