The steady isochoric circulation preserving motions are investigated rationally in which the velocity magnitude is constant along each streamline. First the formal necessary conditions for the general class of the motions are given, then some formal properties of the motion are analysed. Provided that \(w\times v\neq 0\) \((v=velocity\), \(w=curl v)\) the motion is not a screw motion, a family of Lamb surfaces exists, these surfaces contain streamlines and vortex lines. While \(w\times v=0\), the motion is a screw motion and the Lamb surfaces do not exist. The motions with constant streamline curvature are also analysed. The paper has shown that for a steady isochoric circulation-preserving motion, if velocity magnitude and the streamline curvature be constant on each streamline, and suppose that neither the abnormality \(\Omega\) of the vector field s nor the curvature vanishes \((\Omega =s\cdot curl s\), s unit vector tangent to streamline). Then the streamlines are circular helices mounted on concentric cylinders. Furthermore, the velocity magnitude and the streamline parameters are constant on each cylinder, so that they are functions only of the radius of the cylinder. The result holds also for screw motions, characterized by \(w\times v=0\).
