Using maximal co-cliques of the Hoffman-Singleton graph, one can construct two Tits geometries of rank 4 whose diagrams are circuits, one of them having precisely 2 (opposite) bonds labelled 4, the other having a single bond labelled 4. These geometries are flag-transitive and residually connected and each residue of type \(C_ 3= 0 \text{---} 0 \overset {4} {\text{---}} 0 \) is isomorphic to the well-known geometry related to Alt(7). In the paper it is shown that the latter properties determine these geometries as the unique ones with these diagrams. (The automorphism groups of these geometries contain a normal subgroup PSU(3,5).)
