For a symmetric irreducible Siegel domain \(D\), certain operators \(L\), \(H\) and \({\mathcal L}\) are presented such that any real function which is annihilated by these three operators and satisfying some \(H^2\) growth condition, is the real part of an \(H^2\) holomorphic function. The operator \(L\) can be chosen as the Laplace-Beltrami operator, and \(H\) and \({\mathcal L}\) are appropriate combinations of \({\partial^2\over\partial z_j\partial\overline z_j}\). When \(D\) is of tube type, the two operators \(L\) and \(H\) suffice.
