The Busemann-Petty problem may be formulated as follows: If all \(o\)-sections of any two \(o\)-symmetric convex bodies \(K\) and \(L\) in \(R^n\) have the volume property \(V_{n-1}(K\cap\xi^\perp)\leq V_{n-1}(L\cap\xi^\perp)\) \((\xi\in S^{n-1})\) does then hold \(V_n(K)\leq V_n(L)\)? Nowadays it is known that the answer is positive for \(n\leq 4\) and negative for \(n\geq 5\). The author generalizes this result to the Gaussian volume measurement on \(R^n\) with the density \(\frac{1} {(\sqrt{2\pi})^n} e^{-\frac {|z|^2}{2}}\) over Lebesgue's measure. His proof uses the connection of the Busemaun-Petty problem with Busemann's intersection bodies, found by E. Lutwak, and a Fourier analytic characterization of these intersection bodies by A. Koldobsky. Finally, the author shows that this method can also be used to give an answer to the projection counterpart of his ``Gaussian'' Busemann-Petty problem.
