The authors extend and improve some known results concerning the convergence of solutions of the nonhomogeneous second order inclusion \[ \begin{cases} u_{n+1}-(1+\theta_n)u_n+\theta_n u_{n-1}\in c_n Au_n+f_n,\;n\geq 1,\\ u_0=x,\;\sup\{\| u_n \|:\, n\geq 0\}<\infty, \end{cases} \] where \(A\) is a maximal monotone operator on a real Hilbert space. They also obtain new results about the existence of zeroes of \(A\) and the weighted averages of solutions to a zero of \(A\).
