In this paper, the authors study the so-called migrativity property for uninorms. Given \(\alpha \in ]0, 1[\) and two uninorms \(U_1\) and \(U_2\), \(U_1\) is said to be \(\alpha\)-migrative with respect to \(U_2\) if \[ U_1(U_2(\alpha, x), y) = U_1(x, U_2(\alpha, y)) \] holds for all \(x, y \in [0, 1]\). This property is interesting from the point of view of applications, e.g., in decision making or image processing. Previously, it has been studied for \(U_1\) and \(U_2\) both belonging to some of the most studied classes of uninorms. In this paper, migrativity is studied for a more general situation -- \(U_2\) is from one of the most studied classes and \(U_1\) is any uninorm. The authors are able to obtain many new results that also cover those already known. The authors also show that in many cases, \(\alpha\)-migrativity of \(U_1\) and \(U_2\) is equivalent to the fact that \(U_1\) and \(U_2\) have the same \(\alpha\)-section.
