This paper is concerned with the traveling spots of a free boundary problem. The free boundary problem is obtained from the following activator-inhibitor system with small parameter by singular limit analysis \[ u_t= \Delta u+ \frac{1}{\varepsilon ^2} (f_{\varepsilon}(u)-\varepsilon \beta v),\quad v_t=g_1u - \frac{g_2v}{g_0+g_3v}, \] where \[ f_{\varepsilon}(u)=u(1-u)(u-1/2+ \varepsilon \alpha). \] In particular, the traveling spot is symmetric with respect to the \(x\)-axis. Under the assumptions \[ g_i >0,\quad i=1,2,3;\quad \frac{g_2}{g_1g_3}\leq \frac{1}{2}, \] the existence, uniqueness and some other properties of traveling spots are investigated. Moreover, some numerical conclusions are given to illustrate the results.
