Interaction of oblique waves with an array of long horizontal circular cylinders (Q2460303)

In the present study the multipoles are used to construct the analytical solutions for the diffracted and radiated potentials, which are expressed in terms of infinite series. The unknown coefficients in the expressions are determined by the addition theorem of the Bessel function and the cylinder boundary conditions. Expressions for the wave forces and hydrodynamic coefficients are then deduced and expressed in a very simple form. Using the present analytical solution, the hydrodynamic behaviours of three cylinder configurations are analyzed including wave forces, hydrodynamic coefficients and reflection and transmission coefficients. Some interesting wave phenomena arising from these configurations are observed.
