Regarding a complex Riesz-Raikov sums \(\sum f\left(\theta^{k}z\right)\) as random variable on some probability space, the authors prove that \(\frac{1}{\sqrt{n}} \sum^{n}_{k=1} f\left(\theta^{k}z\right)\) converges in distribution to \(N\left(0,\sigma^{2}\left(\theta,f\right)\right)\). ``As a byproduct, metric discrepancy results are proved for geometric progressions'' (from the authors' abstract).
