Consider the planar system \[ x'=X(x,y,\mu),\quad y'=Y(x,y,\mu),\tag{1} \] where \(\mu\) is a scalar parameter. Assume that there exists a domain \(G\) where system (1) has exactly two rest points \(p_1(\mu)\) and \(p_2(\mu)\) such that \(p_1(0)=p_2(0)=0\) and one of these points is a repeller. The author studies conditions under which there exists \(\mu_0>0\) such that \(p_1(\mu)\) and \(p_2(\mu)\) are connected by a trajectory for \(\mu\in(0,\mu_0)\). For example, the statement above holds if \[ \frac{\partial X}{\partial x}+ \frac{\partial Y}{\partial y}\neq 0 \] for \(x=y=\mu=0\).
