The author obtains the following result: If \(F\) is a class of objects of a Grothendieck category \(G\) closed under coproducts and directed colimits, then each object of \(G\) has an \(F\)-cover. The following two results are immediate consequences of the result above: (1) All modules have flat covers, the main result of \textit{L. Bican, R. El Bashir}, and \textit{E. Enochs} [in Bull. Lond. Math. Soc. 33, No. 4, 385-390 (2001; Zbl 1029.16002)]; (2) Flat covers in the category of \(R\)-sheaves of modules exist, where \(R\) is a sheaf of rings, a result of \textit{E. Enochs} and \textit{L. Oyonarte} [in Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 130, No. 5, 1285-1292 (2002; Zbl 0993.16001)].
