Some remarks on the Fučík spectrum of the \(p\)-Laplacian and critical groups (Q5927721)

The authors computed the critical groups for the functional \(\int_\Omega (|\nabla u|^p - a(u^+)^p - b(u^-)^p) dx\) at zero depending on the disposition of \((a,b)\) with respect to the Fučík spectrum for the \(p\)-Laplacian. Here \(u\in W_0^{1,p}(\Omega)\), \(\Omega\subset\mathbb R^n\) is a bounded domain, \((a,b)\in\mathbb R^2\). As an application it is shown the nontrivial (positive, negative, etc.) solvability for \(\Delta_p u = f(x,u)\) with a corresponding \(f\). For a case \(p=2\), see also \textit{E. N.
