Let \(G\) be a simply connected Banach-Lie group with Lie algebra \(\mathfrak{g}\). Let \(\alpha\) be a skew-symmetric, unbounded representation of \(\mathfrak{g}\) in some Hilbert space, and \(D\) be the domain of \(\alpha\). The author gives a criterion for \(\alpha\) to integrate to a continuous, unitary representation of \(G\). More precisely, assume that \(\mathfrak{g} = \mathfrak{a}_1 \oplus \dots \oplus \mathfrak{a}_n\), each \(\mathfrak{a}_i\) being a closed subspace. Let \(A = \mathfrak{a}_1 \cup \dots \cup \mathfrak{a}_n\). Then the representation \(\alpha\) integrates to \(G\) provided that (1) for all \(x \in A\), \(\alpha(x)\) is essentially skew-adjoint; (2) the associated one-parameter subgroups of \(G\) leave \(D\) invariant; (3) some commutation rule involving \(\exp \alpha(x)\) and \(\alpha(y)\) is satisfied, for all \(x \in A\) and \(y \in \mathfrak{g}\). As a corollary, the author obtains that \(\alpha\) integrates to \(G\) if its domain consists of analytic vectors for \(\alpha(x)\) for all \(x \in A\). This generalises a result of \textit{K.-H. Neeb} [``On analytic vectors for representations of Banach-Lie groups'', Ann. Inst. Fourier (in press)].
