In this article the authors construct a family of piecewise linear (PL)-triangulations of the \(d\)-dimensional real projective space \(\mathbb{R}P^d\) by creating centrally symmetric triangulations of \(S^d\), which satisfy a certain property mentioned as the \(P_d\)-property. By these constructions the authors improve a known lower bound for the minimum number of vertices required to triangulate \(\mathbb{R}P^d\). Sufficiently many examples and references are given in the article. Some open questions are also given by the authors for further investigation.
