The goal of paper is to investigate which properties will be preserved for the departure process if the queue is not an M/M/1 one. One considers a PH/G/1 queue and constructs the Laplace-Stieltjes transform of the interdeparture time distribution and analyzes the stochastic properties, such as Increasing Failure Rate (IFR) for the interdeparture time. Because of computational complexity the numerical examples concern the \(E_m/E_k/1\) queue, one shows that the interdeparture time retains the IFR property if \(m\geq k\).
