Minimal fields of definition for Galois action (Q273016)

Let \(f:X \to Y\) be a cover of geometrically irreducible \(K\)-schemes such that \(f_{K_s}\) is Galois, and suppose further that there exists some Galois \(K\)-form \(\bar f : \bar X \to Y\) of \(f\). The author investigates the minimal extension field of \(K\) over which \(f\) becomes Galois and the existence of \(K\)-rational points. Finally, the author gives a set-up where for a finite separable extension \(L/K\) there is some \(L\)-form of \(f_L\) which does not descend to a cover of \(Y\).
