Let \(p\) be an odd prime number and \(G\) be a pro-\(p\) \(p\)-adic Lie group. The Iwasawa algebra is defined to be \(\Lambda(G) : = \varprojlim_{N}\mathbb{Z}_{p}[G/N]\) and the lager algebra is similarly defined to be \(\Lambda^{\infty}(G) : = \varprojlim_{N}\mathbb{Q}_{p}[G/N]\) where \(N\) run over all open normal subgroups of \(G\). Denote by \(SK_1(\Lambda(G)\) the kernel of the homomorphism \(K_{1}(\Lambda(G)) \to K_{1}(\Lambda^{\infty}(G))\) which is induced by the inclusion \(\Lambda(G) \subseteq \Lambda^{\infty}(G)\). The paper consider the vanishing of \(SK_1(\Lambda(G)\). The main result of the paper is Theorem 8.1. This result says that if \(p \leq 5\) then \(SK_1(\Lambda(G) = 0\) for any principal congruence subgroup \(G\) of a split reductive algebraic group over \(\mathbb{Q}_{p}\).
