A construction of symmetric linear functions on the restricted quantum group \(\overline U_q(sl_2)\). (Q987173)

The author studies the restricted quantum group \(\overline U_q(sl_2)\). First, the author describes left and right integrals on \(\overline U_q(sl_2)\) and shows that they are equal, implying that \(\overline U_q(sl_2)\) is unimodular. Left and right integrals on the dual of \(\overline U_q(sl_2)\) are also determined. Further, the author constructs all indecomposable left ideals of \(\overline U_q(sl_2)\) which are isomorphic to projective modules, and uses this to describe all primitive idempotents of \(\overline U_q(sl_2)\). Finally, the author describes \(\overline U_q(sl_2)\) as a subalgebra of a direct sum of certain matrix algebras, which leads to construction of a basis for the space of all symmetric linear functions on \(\overline U_q(sl_2)\). The decomposition of linear functions given by the action of the balancing element to the left and right integrals in this basis is also determined.
