It is well-known that the Siegel-Eisenstein series of degree \(n\) and weight \(k\) converges absolutely, whenever \(k>n+1\). In the paper under review the author investigates the case \(k=n=2\). The attached Eisenstein series can be defined using the Hecke trick. It is no longer holomorphic, but real-analytic. The Fourier expansion is computed explicitly and involves class numbers of imaginary quadratic number fields. The result is an extension of the formulas given by \textit{H. Maaß} [Mat. Fys.- Medd., K. Dan. Vid. Selsk. 34, 1-25 (1964; Zbl 0132.064) and 38, 1-13 (1972; Zbl 0244.10023)] in the case \(n=2\), \(k>3\). The proof makes use of the Fourier-Jacobi expansion and non-holomorphic Jacobi-Eisenstein series of weight 2. In the sequel \textit{S. Nagaoka} [Manuscr. Math. 77, 71-88 (1992; Zbl 0780.11023)] has communicated a different proof of these results.
