An algebraic grid generation procedure that generates a patched dual-block grid system suitable for fighter-type airplane geometries with fuselage, canard, and cranked delta wing has been developed. The method is based entirely on transfinite interpolation and requires little computational power. A finite-volume Euler solver using explicit Runge-Kutta time stepping has been adapted to this grid system and implemented on the Cyber 205 vector processor with a high degree of vectorization. Several computed flows are shown which demonstrate the viability of the present approach and the ability of the new grid system to resolve all relevant flow features. A comparison with a potential method for a low incidence case serves as a preliminary validation of the overall computational procedure.
