The goal of the paper under review is an explicit decomposition of tensor products of two finite-dimensional modules over the special linear Lie superalgebra \(\mathfrak{sl}(2| 1)\) on which its Cartan subalgebra acts diagonalizable into their indecomposable constituents. This generalizes previous results obtained by \textit{M. Marcu} [J. Math. Phys. 21, No. 6, 1284--1292 (1980; Zbl 0445.17004)] for irreducible \(\mathfrak{sl}(2| 1)\)-modules. As a main tool the authors use a certain embedding of \(\mathfrak{gl}(1| 1)\) into \(\mathfrak{sl}(2| 1)\) and the decompositions of the restrictions of \(\mathfrak{sl}(2| 1)\)-modules into indecomposable \(\mathfrak{gl}(1| 1)\)-modules. In particular, this yields that the stable representation ring of \(\mathfrak{sl}(2| 1)\) embeds in the stable representation ring of \(\mathfrak{gl}(1| 1)\).
