This paper describes the so-called pollution error which occurs in the high-frequency range by simulation of structural vibrations, acoustic radiation and short waves. The origin of the pollution error is of dispersive nature and depends on the natural frequency spectrum. For example, the finite element method has restrictions impossible to simulate high-frequency and small-length waves. So the authors come to the conclusion that it is advantageous to combine the meshless and finite element methods.
