The authors improve the result of \textit{H. Garland}\ and \textit{Y. Zhu} (\url{arxiv:0812.3236}) on the absolute convergence of the theta functional for loop group Weil representations by showing that one of the conditions used in the proof of the original result is, in fact, redundant. The authors also prove the convergence of the theta functional for a function that is a polynomial times a suitable Gaussian function.
