The authors consider the following periodic boundary value problem (PBVP) \[ \begin{aligned} & x'(t)+f(t,x(t))=0,\text{ for a.a. } t\in [0,T], \\ & x(0)=x(T), \end{aligned} \] where \(T>0\) and \(f:[0,T]\times \mathbb R^n\rightarrow\mathbb R^n\) is a Carathéodory function. Under some reasonable conditions on \(f\) and by means of a fixed point theorem in cones, they obtain existence and multiplicity results for positive, negative and mixed-type solutions of (PBVP). In addition, they deal with the special case \(n=1\) and weaken the assumptions on \(f\). Moreover, to illustrate their results, some examples are provided.
