Degenerate integro-differential operators in Banach spaces and their applications (Q647914)

Many papers have studied the effectiveness of the application of fundamental operator functions to study initial boundary-value problems for a wide class of differential operators with various types of singularities. For integro-differential operators, these fundamental operator functions have not been yet clearly constructed. The present paper proposes a universal technique (based on necessary conditions, unfortunately not sufficient) for proving several theorems about fundamental operator functions for integro-differential operators. The results are a continuation of the previous research of the first author who considered the problem of fundamental operator functions for differential operators in Banach spaces in [Sib. Mat. Zh. 41, No. 5, 1167--1182 (2000); translation in Sib. Math. J. 41, No. 5, 960--973 (2000; Zbl 0980.34055)] and for integro-differential operators in Banach spaces in [\textit{M. V. Falaleev}, ``The theory of fundamental operator-functions of degenerative integral-differential operators in Banach spaces'', International Mathematical Conference ``50 Years of IPPI'', July 25--29, 2011, Moscow, Russia (2011), \url{http://iitp.ru/upload/content/839/Falaleev.pdf}]. Some applications connected with the mathematical theory of viscoelasticity are given, referring to the theory devloped in [\textit{M. M. Cavalcanti}, \textit{V. N. Cavalcanti Domingos} and \textit{J. Ferreira}, ``Existence and uniform decay for a nonlinear viscoelastic equation with strong damping'', Math. Methods Appl.
