Global attractors are investigated for a class of imperfectly known, singularly perturbed, nonlinear systems subject to control constraints. The uncertain systems are modelled as nonlinear perturbations to a known nonlinear idealized system, as follows: \[ \begin{aligned} \dot x(t) & = f_1(x)+ F_1(x)y+ G_1(x)u+ h_1(t, x,y,u,\mu),\\ \mu\dot y(t) & = A(t)[f_2(x)+ y+ G_2(x)u]+ h_2(t, x,y,u,\mu),\\ z(t) & = r(x(t), y(t)),\end{aligned} \] where \((x(t), y(t))\in \mathbb{R}^n\times \mathbb{R}^l\) is the state of the system, \(u(t)\in\mathbb{R}^m\) is the control input, \(z(t)\in \mathbb{R}^n\) is the output, \(1\leq m\leq l, n\) and \(\mu> 0\) denotes the singular perturbation parameter, assumed to be ``small''. The dimension of the output space coincides with the dimension of the slow subsystem and the full-order system is defined on \(\mathbb{R}^{n+l}\). It is assumed that the vector fields \(f_1\in \mathbb{C}^\infty(\mathbb{R}^n)\) and \(f_2\in C^\infty(\mathbb{R}^l)\) are known and satisfy \(f_1(0)= 0\), \(f_2(0)= 0\), \(F_1(x)\in{\mathcal L}(\mathbb{R}^l, \mathbb{R}^n)\), \(G_1(x)\in{\mathcal L}(\mathbb{R}^m, \mathbb{R}^n)\) and \(G_2(x)\in{\mathcal L}(\mathbb{R}^m, \mathbb{R}^l)\) are known. The uncertainty in the system is represented by \(A(t)\) a Lebesgue measurable matrix-valued function, and the vector fields \(h_1\), \(h_2\), which are smooth, that is \(h_1\in \mathbb{C}^\infty(\mathbb{R}^n)\) and \(h_2\in \mathbb{C}^\infty(\mathbb{R}^l)\). The model is represented by two time-scale systems involving a scalar singular perturbation parameter, which reduces to a system of lower order when the singular perturbation parameter \(\mu\) is set to zero. A class of constrained static output feedback controllers is developed which guarantees global attractivity of a compact set, containing the state origin, for all values of the singular perturbation parameter less than some threshold value.
