The semilinear wave equation \(u_{tt}-\triangle u+a(x)u_{t}=f(u)\) in \(\Omega \times (0,+\infty)\) with Dirichlet boundary conditions, where \(\Omega \subset \mathbb{R}^{n}\) is an exterior domain and \(a(x)u_{t}\) is effective only near the ``critical part'' of the boundary, is treated. On the base of \(L^{p}\)-estimates for linear equations, the author proves global existence and decay property of small amplitude solutions to the problem for \(n\) being odd. No geometrical assumption on the boundary is imposed.
