A simply connected domain \(\Omega\) in the complex plane with \(0\in\partial\Omega\) is called starlike with respect to the boundary point at the origin if the segment \((0, w]=\{ tw\mid t\in (0, 1]\}\) is contained in \(\Omega\) for every \(w\in \Omega\). The class \({\mathcal S}_0^*\) of starlike functions with respect to the boundary point at the origin consists of all univalent functions \(f\) in the unit disk \(\Delta=\{z\); \(|z|<1\}\) such that \(0\in \partial \Delta\) and \(f(\Delta)\) is starlike with respect to the boundary point at the origin. This class was introduced by M. S. Robertson and characterized by A. Lyzzaik. The authors have proved a new analytic characterization of the class \({\mathcal S}_0^*\) using Julia's Lemma. Examples of functions in \({\mathcal S}_0^*\) are given, Also the class of starlike functions with respect to the boundary point at infinity is also discussed.
