\textit{M. Klein} [J. Geom. 43, 116-128 (1992; Zbl 0746.51009)] classified Minkowski planes with respect to \((a,b)\)-homotheties, that is, automorphisms of the Minkowski plane that fix the two nonparallel points \(a\) and \(b\) and induce dilatations in the derived affine plane at \(a\). She obtained 23 possible types for the configuration of all pairs \((a,b)\) for which a group of automorphisms is \((a,b)\)-transitive. In the paper under review the authors investigate Minkowski planes that admit groups of automorphisms of types 4, 5 or 7. These types occur for certain subgroups in the miquelian Minkowski planes of orders 3 or 5. In fact, the authors show that these planes are the only ones where types 4, 5 and 7 can be realised. In particular, there are no Minkowski planes of types 4, 5 and 7, that is, planes whose full automorphism groups are of these types.
