    Let \[ P(x;D_ x,D_ t)=D_ t^ m+a_ 1(x;D_ x)D_ t^{m- 1}+...+a_ m(x;D_ x),\quad(x,t)\in R^{\ell}\times [0,T]\equiv \Omega \] be a linear partial differential operator, the coefficients \(a_ i(x;D_ x)\), 1\(\leq i\leq m\) being linear partial differential operators in \(R^{\ell}\). The operator \(P(x;D_ x,D_ t)\) is said to be non-Kowalewskian if \[ \max_{1\leq j\leq m}order\quad a_ j(x;D_ x)/j\equiv b>1. \] For the forward and backward Cauchy problem \(P(x;D_ x,D_ t)u(x,t)=f(x,t)\) on \(\Omega\), \(D_ t^ ju(x,t_ 0)=g_ j(x),j=0,1,...,m-1,(\forall)\quad t_ 0\in [0,T]\) and \(b=2\), one gives sufficient conditions of uniqueness of solution in \(L^ 2({\mathbb{R}}^{\ell})\). At the end of the article one shows some examples of operators satisfying the given conditions.
