This paper deals with the interesting problem of oscillation of a fluid in a tube. A liquid column with height \(H\) is trapped in a circular tube of radius \(R\). The following assumptions are made: \(R\ll H\), contact lines are pinned, static contact angles are different from zero, the spherical cup approximation is valid. The axis of the tube is parallel to the gravity. The authors calculate a mechanical eigenfrequency by linearizing over the spherical cup approximation the hydrostatic equilibrium state and by making ansatzes of type \(h(r)\exp(-\omega t)\), \(r^2=x^2+y^2\), \(z\)-axis is the axis of the tube. As an illustration of the result, it is shown that one gets for a special amount of water in a capillary tube with radius \(r=0.5\) mm a resonant frequency of 45 Hz.
