Let \(F_{12}\) denote the Siegel cusp form of degree 3 and weight 12 given in [\textit{I. Miyawaki}, Mem.\ Fac.\ Sci., Kyushu Univ., Ser.\ A 46, No.\ 2, 307--339 (1992; Zbl 0780.11022)]. We also consider the modular cusp forms \(\Delta\), which is the unique cusp form of weight 12 for the full modular group, and \(g_{20}\), the newform of weight 20. Moreover consider the spinor \(L\)-function \(L(s, F_{12})\) and the \(L\)-functions \(L(s,\Delta)\) and \(L(s,\Delta \otimes g_{20})\). Here, \(\Delta \otimes g_{20}\) denotes the convolution of the two cusp forms \(\Delta\) and \(g_{20}\). The paper under review proves the following: Theorem. The spinor \(L\)-function \(L(s,F_{12})\) is given by \[ L(s,F_{12}) = L(s-9,\Delta) \, L(s-10,\Delta) \, L(s,\Delta \otimes g_{20}). \] This proves a conjecture made by Miyawaki in [loc. cit.].
