In the preliminaries we find the following statement: On an oriented Riemannian spin manifold \((M,g)\), let \(h\) be a second metric, let \(S\) be the spinor bundle assigned to \(g\), and \(D'\), \(D"\) the Dirac operators belonging to \(g\) and \(h\) respectively. Then \(D"\) can also be regarded as a differential operator on S. Now, the Levi-Civita connection \(D\), being compatible with \(g\), has therefore the following property: \(I\) being the ideal defining the Clifford algebra of \(g\), covariant derivatives of sections of the tensor bundle having values in \(I\) again belong to \(I\). Due to this property \(D\) can be extended to a connection on \(S\) over \(M\). The Levi-Civita connection compatible with \(h\) will generally not have this property. To extend a connection which is not compatible with the Clifford algebra of \(g\) to a connection on \(S\), it is not very probable to succeed in doing so. Revision is recommended!
