The goal of the paper is to find a minimax and admissible estimator of the location parameter, based on the generalized Bayes shrinkage estimator of location parameter for elliptical and spherical distributions under balance-type loss. By shrinking the empirical wavelet coefficients towards zero, the smaller ones which contain primarily noise are reduced to negligible levels, hence denoising the signal. Theoretical findings are further supported by some numerical analyses. A Monte Carlo simulation study is evaluating the performance of the proposed class of estimators.
