Consider the Sturm-Liouville differential expressions \[ l_i=w_i^{-1}(-(p_i y^\prime)^\prime+q_i y),\quad i=1,2, \] with real-valued coefficients \(p_i^{-1},q_i,w_i\in L^1_{loc}(a_i,b_i)\), \(w_i>0\), and denote by \(S_{i,\min}\) the closed minimal operators associated to \(l_i\) in the weighted Hilbert spaces \(L^2((a_i,b_i),w_i)\). Then the orthogonal sum \(S_{\min}=S_{1,\min}\oplus S_{2,\min}\) is a densely defined closed symmetric operator in the product Hilbert space \(L^2((a_1,b_1),w_1)\oplus L^2((a_2,b_2),w_2)\) with equal deficiency indices \(\leq 4\). The main objective of this paper is to describe the selfadjoint extensions of the symmetric operator \(S_{\min}\), where instead of the usual Hilbert scalar product the product space is equipped with the slightly more general inner product \[ \langle\{f_1,f_2\},\{g_1,g_2\}\rangle:=h\,\int_{a_1}^{b_1}f_1\overline{g_1}w_1\,dx\, +\, k\,\int_{a_2}^{b_2}f_2\overline{g_2}w_2\,dx,\qquad h,k>0. \]
