Consider the problem of bringing an initial point to the neighbourhood of a trajectory in a finite time. Inertial control refers to control systems in which the absolute values of the \(k\)th-order derivative of the control along the trajectories of the systems are bounded, for various given values of \(k\), including zero. The present paper is two-fold. Firstly, one solves the inertial control problem for linear dynamics with linear control. And secondly, one shows how the inertial control problem for completely controllable systems can be reduced to the same problem for the canonical system. Lastly, one exhibits the relations that exist between inertial controls and bounded controls.
