The nonlinear dynamic behavior of a damaged shell under various types of loading is investigated using a MATLAB code. The generic nonlinear mathematical model of the damaged shell is capable of analyzing different shell configurations (cylindrical, elliptical, spherical, etc.), including the damage types, i.e., delamination, crack, and the combination of both. The damaged shell is modeled utilizing Green-Lagrange strain in conjunction with higher-order mid-plane kinematics. The finite element (FE) method is used considering the separation of the layers. The time-dependent displacement responses of the shell are evaluated using a nonlinear finite element code derived in MATLAB using Newmark's integration technique. Direct iterative techniques are utilized in the nonlinear analysis. The FE solutions convergence of has been proven. The combined effect of crack and delamination is presented in numerous mathematical examples.
