    Let \(A[X]\) (resp. \(A[X,X^{-1}])\) be the polynomial (resp. Laurent polynomial) algebra over an unital \(\mathbb{C}\)-algebra \(A\). The author defines cyclic cohomology maps \(H^n_{\lambda}(A)\to H^n_{\lambda}(A[X])\) and \(H^n_{\lambda}(A)\oplus H_{\lambda}^{n- 1}(A)\to H^n_{\lambda}(A[X,X^{-1}])\) and following \textit{A. Connes} [cf. Publ. Math., Inst. Hautes Étud. Sci. 62, 41--144 (1985; Zbl 0592.46056)], isomorphisms of appropriate spectral sequences so that: (1) \(E^*_n(A)\overset \sim \rightarrow E^*_n(A[X]), \quad n\ge 1\); (2) \(E^*_n(A)\oplus E_n^{*-1}(A)\overset \sim \rightarrow E^*_n(A[X,X^{- 1}]),\quad (n\ge 1)\). Thus, the spectral sequence \(E^*_n\), \(n\ge 1\) behaves in the same manner as algebraic \(K\)-theory [cf. \textit{D. G. Quillen}, Algebr. K-Theory I, Proc. Conf. Battelle Inst. 1972, Lect. Notes Math. 341, 85--147 (1973; Zbl 0292.18004) and \textit{D. Grayson}, Algebr. K-Theory, Proc. Conf. Evanston 1976, Lect. Notes Math. 551, 217--230 (1976; Zbl 0362.18015)]. The same kind of results were obtained by \textit{D. Burghelea} and \textit{C. Kassel} (forthcoming).
